Changelog

A list of what this site published. It is the record of the record. It is not a news feed, and it does not log every indie launch on the internet.

This is what changed on the site. Dates are when the page or story was published here, not when the underlying event happened. A founder’s September post can land in the record a few days later. The about page explains what the record is for. This page only says what arrived.

26 September 2026

The rest of the evergreen pages, in one batch.

Definitions and arguments: can you still make money, oversaturated, indie hacking vs a startup, audience, vibe coding, build in public, MRR.

Lists: who to follow, newsletters, podcasts, tools, communities.

The year and the numbers: state of 2026, revenue benchmarks, ads vs bidding, courses.

Short hubs: Pieter Levels, Marc Lou, Postiz, Rob Hallam. The Postiz URL is the product. The Hallam URL is the person, because SuperX and the course are different meters.

Practical pages: how to start, the first $1,000 MRR, shipping fast with AI, monetisation models.

Reference and the house: glossary, about, and this changelog.

The homepage gained an Explore section that points at the pillars. The footer Explore list stays short on purpose.

9 September 2026 through 25 September 2026

Stories already on the site when the evergreen batch landed:

Publication order on the site and the order of the events are not the same list. Each story has its own date.

Earlier

The homepage timeline. The handwritten essay is indie hacking dead. Then the reusable page layout, and the first definition pages: what indie hacking is, what an indie hacker is, and the timeline as its own URL.

Those pages were not rewritten for the batch above. Later pages link to them. If a later page and an early page disagree, the early page plus the source wins until someone fixes the slip.

FAQ

What is this changelog?

A plain list of what was added to stateofindiehacking.com. Stories, definitions, and the bulk of the evergreen pages. It does not track Product Hunt, funding, or other people’s shipping days.

How often does the site update?

When there is a page or a story worth adding, or a correction against a source. There is no promise of a weekly edition.

Does a changelog date match the event?

No. The date is when the page or story was published here. A founder’s post can be older than the story that cites it. Each story page has its own publication date.
